Children aged 14 and over are welcome in our geothermal pools when accompanied by an adult. Our Treetop Day Spa offers treatments to guests aged 16 and over.
All ages are welcome to enjoy our Lagoonside Restaurant.

We aim to create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere for all guests and appreciate your understanding.

  • How hot are the pools?

Our geothermal pools range from 32°C - 41°C (90°F - 106°F), allowing you to move between temperatures and find your perfect soak.

  • Do you provide accommodation?

While we don’t offer onsite accommodation, we’re located just minutes from a range of quality motels, lodges, and holiday homes. Visit our Plan Your Visit page for our local recommendations.

  • What should I bring?

Just your swimwear, a towel, and a relaxed mindset - we’ll take care of the rest.

Need something extra? We have towels, robes, slippers, and lockers available to hire, and swimsuits can be purchased at reception. No stress, we’ve got you covered.

  • Do I need to bring ID to purchase alcohol?

Yes. In line with New Zealand alcohol licensing laws, any guest who appears to be under the age of 25 may be asked to provide valid photo identification when purchasing or consuming alcohol on our premises.

To avoid disappointment, please ensure you bring an acceptable form of ID, which includes:

A current New Zealand driver licence, or

    A valid passport

If suitable ID cannot be provided when requested, our team will unfortunately be unable to serve alcohol. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a safe and compliant environment for all guests.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

Yes – bookings are highly recommended, especially for spa treatments and during weekends or holidays. This ensures we can provide you with the best possible experience.

  • Can I enjoy the spa and pools separately?

All of our facilities can be enjoyed together or as separate experiences - whether you’re indulging in a treatment, soaking in the geothermal pools, or dining with us. Our team is here to help you plan the perfect visit for you.

  • Can I wear jewellery in the pools?

We recommend removing all jewellery before entering the pools, as the natural minerals may tarnish some metals. Lockers are available for secure storage.

  • Is The Lost Spring suitable during pregnancy?

We advise pregnant guests to consult their healthcare provider before visiting. We are unable to offer treatments to those who are in their first trimester, however after this some spa treatments may be adapted and we also offer a Pregnancy Massage which can be found here. We have cooler pool areas available for your comfort however we do not advise using the crater pool due to its high temperatures.

  • Do you have food and drinks available onsite?

Absolutely. Dine à la carte in our historic Lagoonside Restaurant, or savour our poolside service from the comfort of your lounger or the pools. Whether you’re after a light bite, a cocktail, or a full meal — indulgence is always on the menu.

  • Do you have shower facilities?

We offer a refreshing outdoor HOT rinse down station.

However, due to the natural minerals and healing properties in our geothermal water, rinsing off afterward is not necessary and often not recommended. We encourage you to let the benefits of the water continue working their magic long after your visit.

  • Is there a surcharge on public holidays?

Yes. A 10% public holiday surcharge applies to all experiences, dining, and beverages on New Zealand public holidays.
